Hornsby Musical Set To Debut

Unlike the delayed, budget bloated, injury plagued musical based on Spider Man that Bono and The Edge of U2 scored for Broadway (story), a musical Bruce Hornsby has wrote has enjoyed smooth sailing to its January 18 premier in Norfolk, VA.  Granted, SCKBSTD (you fill in the vowels and  consonant) has nothing approaching the technical challenges that are mostly to blame for the problems of the Broadway production, but it isn't giving anything up when it comes to talent. The Virginia cast includes plenty of Broadway credentials packing actors, including Eugene Barry-Hill (The Lion King), Riley Costello (Everyday Rapture), Robert Cuccioli (Jeckyll and Hyde), Rosa Curry (Rocky Horror Picture Show), Garrett Long (South Pacific), Jayne Patterson (Les Miz), and  Tony winning director John Rando (Urinetown).  The Hornsby musical revolves around the reaction of a small, Southern town to the arrival of a stranger who gets tongues wagging and residents of the tight community on edge by roaming the town's streets in his Dodge.  SCKBSTD will run through Feb. 6 at the Wells Theatre in Norfolk.
