Allman Brothers Museum Opening

The long campaign to convert the house members of the Allman Brothers Band called home in the early 70's into a museum bears fruit in the Peach Tree State when The Big House opens on Vineville Avenue in Macon, Georgia this weekend.  The house, which ABB road manager Kirk West lived in as recently as 2003, underwent five years of restoration and renovations funded by $2.5 million in donations from fans throughout the country.  The price tag for the undertaking would have been much higher had more than half of the needed materials and labor not been donated.  The museum opens Saturday (12/5).  It will be open weekends only until its Grand Opening, which is expected to take place in February.
